The ever-pressing problem of burnout
In a survey by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), more than 29 percent of American workers now describe their job as “extremely stressful” day in day and day out. A survey by The U.S. Families and Work Institute showed that 25 percent of all U.S. employees have “felt like screaming and shouting at times on the job”, and 14 percent “felt like striking a co-worker” because of work-related stress. The percentage of working people struggling with burnout certainly hasn’t receded these last few years, and the corporate world is spending enormous amounts on it.
The American Institute of Stress estimates that job stress costs the U.S. industry $300 billion annually as assessed by absenteeism, tardiness-diminished productivity, employee turnover, medical costs, the loss of talented workers, and legal and insurance fees. Another estimate from the NIOSH finds that health problems associated with stress costs companies about $200 billion a year. Hospitals and primary care physicians report that 75 to 90 percent of patient visits are for stress-related health complaints, and many of those eventually result in a burnout. A recent study conducted in Britain reported that approximately 40 percent of the workforce intends to leave their job within the next year due to high rates of stress in the workplace. Women are just as equally affected by burnout as men. Reasonable concern, thus, isn’t ill founded. Stress, burnout, or overstrain, the numbers don’t lie. The cause for stress and burnout is ascribed to the working atmosphere as well as personal problems.
The traditionele approach
According to the commonly accepted definition of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), burnout is a disorder characterized by feelings of exhaustion of the body, spirit, and soul, often caused by periods of extreme stress after traumatic life events that occurred shortly one after another, without any recovery phase. Stress and burnout are creating serious problems with a high cost factor for employees, as well as employers. Solutions are gravely needed. The traditional methods that are commonly used have the disadvantage of being long-term projects and having to wait whether the expected results will occur.
Real cause and effective approach
Stress, depression, and burnout are the result of a disturbance in the physiological stability in your body. The Progressive Mental Alignment® (PMA) technique manages the genetically determined operating mechanisms of your physiology and, therefore, is able to come up with permanent solutions for these disturbances without the use of medication. PMA is focused on realistic results. The program allows you to experience the source of exhaustion, stress, and burnout by way of exercises and the application of PMA, guided by experienced PMA Coaches. The participants will be surprised to discover how relatively easy it is to find a solution for these problems.
